How does P2PTP work?

This allows you to access your home network while traveling or working outside of the office, as well as access resources that would otherwise be unavailable from outside of your local area network (LAN).
PPTP uses a modified version of the Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) protocol to create its own unique packet format, known as PPPoE. It also supports CHAP authentication for logging in before accessing resources on your home network
Difference between P2PTP and other VPNs?
Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) is the most common VPN protocol and it’s easy to set up and use. However, PPTP is not as secure as other protocols and it isn’t as easy to use either.
Essentially, PPTP tunnels traffic through a secure channel between your computer and the VPN server you’re connected to. This means that all your internet traffic travels over this channel–including web browsing, email messages, files you download from the internet (like music files or videos), instant messages and more–all of which can be monitored by third parties if they gain access to your VPN connection while using a public Wi-Fi network like those found at coffee shops or airports where other people might be able to snoop on what you’re doing online since they share the same network connection with yours!
